Originally, the IAME Series Germany and the Shifter Series Germany were scheduled to start their season on April 11 and 12, 2026. We were now forced to postpone the opening round. Here’s the background.
Just days before the first race of the season in Genk, Belgium, we had to cancel the event. Various and unforeseeable reasons led to this decision.
“We had around 40 entries for Genk – that wasn’t much, but we would have run the race anyway. Unfortunately, many of these entries have now unexpectedly withdrawn: some for health reasons, some because they decided to switch to other racing series, and some for financial reasons due to the uncertain economic situation. We therefore had no choice but to cancel the opening round to give the remaining teams and drivers fair notice. However, this does not mean that we are not running the series. The race in Genk will be canceled without replacement and the season start will take place just one date later, on May 23 and 24, 2026 in Kerpen.”
