Lessons were learned from this, and now they are trying to appeal to a wider range of drivers with a revised plan. The focus is on redesigning the schedule. A three-day event will become a pure weekend event on Saturday and Sunday, with an emphasis on holding heats and races, as was known from the past before its inclusion in the DKM.

From three to two – Shortening the event
Initially, the IAME Series Germany planned to follow the format of previous years, introducing Friday as a practice day and starting race action directly on Saturday. Now, the approach is being reoriented, eliminating the need for arrival on Thursday and the associated extra effort for drivers and parents. The weekend is now planned to start on Saturday, with several free practice sessions and qualifying scheduled for Saturday. The heats will then be spread across Saturday and Sunday, rounded off by the finals on Sunday. The idea is based on the experience of past years, where the concept was well received, including Friday as a voluntary practice day.

Focus – more driving time
Even if the event length is reduced, maximum driving time remains the priority. There will be no practice ban, so the weekdays before the race weekends, especially Friday, can still be used. This eliminates the need for a double journey and saves costs. The race program will also not be cut: the same number of races will still be held, only their distribution over the weekend will change.

Shortening the event results in more affordable participation fees and ancillary costs. Initially, the entry fee will be reduced to €360 for all participants and guest starters. In addition, ancillary costs will decrease due to the shorter event duration.

A new approach is also being taken regarding tires and fuel. Practice tires can now be freely chosen and reused from other events. They are also moving away from purchasing Panta racing fuel and instead require refueling at an Aral petrol station of choice with Aral Ultimate fuel.
All of this leads to significant financial relief and a more attractive program. Further innovations will be announced in the coming weeks and also published via social media channels.
