IAME Mini Swift celebrates comeback in Germany

IAME Kart Motor

As part of the IAME Series Germany, the youngest participants and their parents can also look forward to an entry opportunity into the new environment next year. The very successful IAME Mini Swift series in Europe will also find its way to Germany, thus complementing the X30 category ladder. It comes with many attractive reasons to switch to the IAME class.

The Mini Swift category, which is still relatively unknown in Germany, has been established and successful in neighboring countries since 2007. It builds on the concept of the X30 Juniors and Seniors and offers a mono-brand series, i.e. a brand trophy. The engine has already proven its worth, especially in neighboring Belgium: up to 60 participants are consistently at the start in the IAME Series Benelux. This bridges the gap for guest starts in neighboring countries and the first taste of international competition. Next year, the Mini Swift Pro-M engine from the Italian engine manufacturer IAME will be used:

One of the advantages of the IAME Mini Swift is the cost factor. The engine, which has remained unchanged for almost 20 years, is inexpensive to purchase and maintain. In addition, cost-driving tuning measures are not possible and, in addition to financial attractiveness, also offer equal opportunities. Furthermore, an engine buy-back program will be introduced, which allows the organizer to buy back the engine at an attractive price after and during the season if you move up to higher classes or abandon the season, thereby reducing your costs.

The engine also offers some refinements for the drivers. For example, learning how to adjust the carburetor is possible compared to other categories, but the robustness of the unit also significantly prevents the risk of damage and helps inexperienced drivers with mistakes. When moving up from the Mini to the Juniors class, the ability to adjust the carburetor will then be indispensable and will bring a subsequent competitive advantage.

As an entry-level class into motorsport, it is important to the organizer to also support newcomers via the IAME Mini Swift category. Thanks to the simple handling of the engine and the regulations, which leave little to no room for more experienced teams, those interested can expect a chance to bring their child to a competitive level even with little experience. The many years of consistency in using the Mini Swift engine is also an advantage over the Mini 60 class, which often undergoes cost-intensive innovations, as in 2026, and is associated with many new purchases but also ever-increasing costs for tuners. The limitations of the Mini 60 class also mean that the IAME Mini Swift can now achieve the same lap times and there is no longer any difference in performance.

There are also new options for teams to purchase the engines through the organizer. Special conditions apply here and engines are made available to the teams. For the classic father-son team, however, the buy-back program remains: With a new price of just under €2,000, a buy-back price of €1,100 is offered for engines that are kept in accordance with the regulations and correspond to the expected condition. If you would like to try this out, you can look forward to special offers for planned guest starts in the future.
