Following last week’s announcement of the IAME Series Germany calendar, featuring rounds in Genk, Kerpen, Wackersdorf, Mülsen, and Ampfing, details are now available for the shifter kart classes, which will also be contested. The name is also set: the Shifter Series Germany will debut in 2026.
The IAME Series Germany is known to comprise solely the X30 categories; however, the organization does not want to forego the premier KZ2 class and the gentleman drivers. Therefore, alongside the IAME Series Germany, the newly launched Shifter Series Germany will also be held – in parallel with the X30 classes on the same weekend, on the same tracks, and with identical support from the organizers. All classes, from Mini to shifter kart, will be brought under one roof.
It is important to note that the KZ classes are not an IAME one-make cup. Instead, an open class will be contested, welcoming all brands such as TM, IAME, Modena, Vortex, LKE, etc. This regulation applies to both KZ2 and KZ2 Masters. This also gives rise to the new name of the series, which does not refer solely to the manufacturer IAME.
While the regulations for KZ2 largely remain unchanged from the standards known for years, the Shifter Series Germany aims to offer KZ2 Masters a more prominent platform compared to other championships, as KZ2 Masters has often only been a secondary event in many competitions until now. In the Shifter Series Germany, there will be a dedicated class with its own races, which will not be integrated into the KZ2 rounds. Additionally, a KZ2 Masters regulation tailored to the drivers will be created, which will better meet the requirements and demands of the gentlemen than has been the case in other competitions. KZ2 Masters drivers will receive a comprehensive package at the most popular and largest karting tracks, including livestream and meticulous organization.
With the newly presented concept, from IAME X30 Mini through Juniors and Seniors up to KZ2 and KZ2 Masters, the IAME Series Germany and Shifter Series Germany weekends will offer a comprehensive program. Both teams and drivers can find their place in all classes and do not have to switch to other series. In addition to competitiveness against other championships, this aims to ensure a promotion opportunity across the complete ladder from Mini to shifter kart. Further information on the IAME Mini Swift Series will follow in the next announcement.
